Extra! Extra! Copper Hills Featured in "Utah Lacrosse News"

Boys: No. 9 Copper Hills Sinks Bonneville
03.16.2011 - By Tim Haslam
The No. 9 Copper Hills Grizzlies beat the Bonneville Lakers on Tuesday by the score of 14-10 in West Jordan.
The game started with both teams committing several turnovers as they found their feet. The Lakers were the first to score but Copper Hills went on a four goal run spanning 3 minutes. Bonneville didn’t give up though as they scored a man-up goal after Copper Hills was called for a push to cut the Grizzly lead to two goals, however, Copper Hills would answer with a two goal run to take a 6-2 lead after the first quarter.

The Grizzlies continued to dominate the game, scoring four more goals in the second quarter and only allowing two. After halftime, both teams came out sluggish and only scored one goal in the third quarter. The fourth quarter saw runs of two goals for each team before the final whistle blew, giving the Grizzlies a 14-10 win.
“It’s early in the season,” said Copper Hills Head Coach Matt Evans. “It was a little sloppier then we’d like it to be but overall it seems to be coming together very well.”
Copper Hills was led by senior attackmen Bryce Fontenot who had 6 goals and 3 assists.
Copper Hills will face Murray on Thursday at West Hills Middle School in West Jordan. Bonneville will host Park City on Tuesday, March 22.
